About Papasito Cigars
Yes — every Papasito cigar is hand-rolled by skilled artisans in Jember, Java. Hand-rolling isn't just tradition; it allows the roller to feel the tension of the filler, ensure an even draw, and produce a consistent burn that machine-made cigars simply cannot replicate. Each cigar is inspected before it leaves the factory.
Papasito was born in Bali — conceived to bring a premium cigar experience to the island's world-class venues and lifestyle scene. Our cigars are crafted in Jember, East Java, a region with a long and respected history of tobacco cultivation. The fertile volcanic soil and tropical climate produce leaves of exceptional quality, which our master rollers transform into the finished product.
Most premium cigars come from Cuba, Nicaragua, or the Dominican Republic. Papasito is something different — a genuinely premium product born out of Indonesia's rich tobacco heritage, brought to life with a brand identity built for the modern luxury market.
- The tobacco: Havana-seed leaves grown in Jember's volcanic soil — full character, none of the import markup
- The craft: Hand-rolled by experienced artisans with decades of tradition behind them
- The brand: Clean, confident, and designed to sit alongside the world's best — not look out of place next to them
- The partnership model: We don't just sell boxes. We work closely with each venue to ensure presentation, pricing, and the guest experience are right
Product & Quality
We use Havana-seed tobacco grown in Indonesia's Jember region — one of the world's most respected tobacco-growing areas. A cigar has three components, and we take all three seriously:
- Wrapper: The outermost leaf — either a Maduro (dark, fermented) or Natural Havana — which contributes significantly to aroma and the first impression of flavour
- Binder: A robust leaf that holds the filler together and influences burn consistency
- Filler: Long-leaf tobacco that forms the body of the cigar and defines its core flavour and strength
We currently offer two cigars — each distinct in size, wrapper, and character, but both built to the same standard of quality.
| Detail | Short King | Sugar Daddy |
|---|---|---|
| Ring Gauge | 60 | 52 |
| Length | 110mm | 140mm |
| Wrapper | Maduro Havana | Natural Havana |
| Strength | Medium to Full | Medium to Full |
| Notes | Dark chocolate, espresso, roasted nuts, warm spice | Sweet cedar, creamy earth, smooth spice finish |
Both the Short King and Sugar Daddy sit in the medium-to-full strength range. They have real presence — you'll feel them — but neither is designed to overwhelm. For someone who smokes occasionally or is newer to cigars, we'd suggest starting with the Sugar Daddy: its Natural Havana wrapper delivers a smoother, more approachable experience. The Short King's Maduro wrapper brings a deeper, richer profile suited to those who prefer more body and strength.
Cigars are a living product — they breathe, age, and change over time. To keep them at their best, store in a humidor at:
- Humidity: 65–72% relative humidity
- Temperature: 18–21°C

Yes. Presentation matters, and a cigar sitting loose on a shelf doesn't do justice to the product — or your venue. We offer a branded Papasito countertop humidor on a rent-to-own basis, which keeps your initial investment low while ensuring the cigars are stored correctly and displayed in a way that feels premium. It also acts as a conversation piece — guests notice it.
We keep the process straightforward for our partners:
- Payment: Orders are paid upfront prior to dispatch
- Delivery: Free delivery to all partner venues across Bali
- Returns: Damaged goods can be returned within 15 days of receipt — just send us a photo and we'll sort it
- Reorders: We'll check in regularly to make sure you never run out, and we aim to turn around reorders quickly
